Styling: I recently had the pleasure of assisting this gorgeous family with their photoshoot, but to my surprise, they already had everything put together and ready to go. I must say, I was impressed with their spring wardrobe, which perfectly complemented the spring background and grassy hills.
If you’re located in the Bay Area or anywhere in California, you know that the weather can be beautiful during spring. That’s why I recommend soft colors and added texture for your family to ensure that you all look great and are comfortable during your family photoshoot.
When it comes to styling and patterns, the key is to choose a pattern that is not too busy or distracting. I love subtle floral patterns that will complement the spring background without overpowering the photos. Soft colors such as pastels, creams, sage, lavender, and light pinks are perfect for springtime, and they’ll give your photos a fresh and airy feel.
Adding texture to your attire is also important. It will bring depth and interest to your photos and make them more visually appealing. I recommend incorporating textures such as linen, lace, and knitwear into your outfits. For example, a knitted sweater is perfect for the kids in case it gets chilly during the evening.
It’s essential to make sure that your family is comfortable during the photoshoot, especially if you have kids. Choose outfits that fit well and that your family feels confident in. The more comfortable and confident you are, the more relaxed and natural your photos will look.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this incredible family for their first family photoshoot, and it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the photoshoot was extremely fun, laid back, and a piece of cake. It was clear that the family was excited to be there and that they were comfortable in front of the camera.
Despite it being their first family photoshoot, you would never know it because the family was so at ease and natural in front of the camera. It was clear that they had a beautiful family connection, and it showed in every photo. They laughed, hugged, and interacted with each other effortlessly, which made for beautiful and authentic family photos.
Throughout the photoshoot, I encouraged the family to be themselves and have fun, and they definitely delivered! Their natural chemistry and connection made it easy to capture beautiful and authentic moments that they’ll cherish forever.
